About Kazakhstan Network Information Center
Kazakhstan Network Information Center (KazNIC) was registered as a non-commercial organization by the Ministry of Justice in September 1999.
The IANA organization appointed Kazakhstan Network Information Center as a manager for supporting the top-level domain name KZ. The manager independently sets the rules and registration order of domain names of the second and following levels in strict correspondence with existing standards and rules of delegation of domain names on the Internet (www.iana.org, www.icann.org and others).
Kazakhstan Network Information Center was created for achieving the following aims
- to be the center of network information, management and control for using the domain name .KZ on the Internet;
- to manage and control the use of sub-domains of the Internet within the .KZ domain, in accordance with all necessary agreements and in cooperation with state and non-state organizations;
- to set, publish and administrate the rules of use of domain names;
- to support the registration of domain names on the Internet;
- to set and introduce authorization procedures for changing registered domain names;
- to provide means for searching registered domain names;
- to provide the functioning of the DNS (Domain Name Service);
- to provide (via DNS, WHOIS) the necessary information about registered sub-domains;
- the delegation of rights for administration and management of second-level domain names.
Kazakhstan Network Information Center is a legal entity according to the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
