From June 1, 2026, new Regulations will be introduced by the Registry

In order to develop and standardize domain name registration processes, new Regulations will be introduced from June 1, 2026:

• Regulation on the use of electronic digital signatures (EDS) for verification of domain name data in the .KZ and .ҚАЗ zones.

  A mechanism for verifying data using electronic digital signatures (EDS) will be implemented, including automatic validation of correctness of data, BIN/IIN.

  The introduction of this mechanism will enhance the transparency of registration processes and provide an additional level of protection for registration data within the national domain space.

• Regulation on the interaction between the Registry and the Registrar in the .EDU.KZ zone.

  Mandatory automatic verification of the registrant's valid educational license in the state registry will be implemented, based on the provided legal entity BIN, to ensure that registrants meet the requirements of the .EDU.KZ domain zone.

As part of the update, the functionality of the EPP server has been expanded, providing all accredited Registrars with the ability to register and maintain .EDU.KZ domain names in compliance with the technical requirements and conditions of the Registry.

Implementation Stages

• Stage 1 (Test): June 1 – July 31, 2026, Software adaptation, connection to the test EPP server, completion of test cycle, confirmation of compliance with requirements.
• Stage 2 (Operational): From August 1, 2026, Registration functions available on the main EPP server.

A Registrar that has implemented the technical requirements of the above Regulations and technical specifications on their side may submit an application to the Registry to obtain access for registering domain names in the EDU.KZ zone.
